Prison no doubt has made headway over the years; however, on the ground floor incarcerated individuals are dying at an alarming rate help is hard to come by when they really need the help. Is California Prisons really applying the spirit of the California Model of the four pillars into each prison? The answer is NO!

Our loved ones are dying, they are somebodies' father, uncle, nephew, brother, cousin, sister, aunt, uncle, and mother. They are still not treated like human beings and nor are the non-custody floor staff we are a threat. That is not how we need to look at our current situation we are in a full-blown epidemic inside prison and outside of prison every human being has a lost loved one to drugs, and or alcohol. The disease of addiction does not discriminate it can be treated, and prison environment can change but it starts with all of us.
